As a musicMar 19 2008Music Education
As a music student, I think that it is HIGHLY important that you be prepared to work your butt off if you get into this school. I, for one, had a huge shock going into the school of music, and I've seen many people switch majors because they realize that it's not for them. Just make sure that you go in with the correct mindset.

I was really involved inAug 06 2007Finance
I was really involved in extracurricular activities in High School. I was a letter winner in football and rowing, I coached hockey, was involved in school plays, choir, student council, spanish club, and a community service organization. Universities look at more than just grades. They look for well-rounded individuals who can give back to the community. Get involved and do something great that sets you apart from everyone else.
ACT: 25 Male
I did several activies,May 04 2007Public Policy
I did several activies, sports, and was a member of National Honors Society. I did relatively well in high school and had a relatively good ACT score.

To get into Michigan State, be involved. Join groups, play sports, and remember that each semester counts in high school. If you want to attend the greatest university, you need to show MSU that you are motivated and intelligent.

Extracurricular activities are a great idea. Check out a campus tour before you even apply, take a chance to tour the colleges you are interest, some of the top ranked schools are:

MSU College of Education
MSU College of Business
MSU College of Engineering
MSU College of Agriculture
MSU College of Nursing
Lyman Briggs (School of Natural Science – usually Pre-Med)
James Madison (usually Pre-Law Students)
MSU College of Telecommunications

All these have great bragging rights and might suit one of your interests! A high GPA is the biggest help, MSU does look at ACT & SAT scores – so do your best on those.
